Your complete guide to creating a multilingual WordPress site with GeoLang for Gutenberg
Quick Start in 5 Steps

Install GeoLang
- Download the plugin from WordPress.org or this website
- Go to your WordPress Dashboard > Plugins > Add New
- Upload and activate GeoLang for Gutenberg
- You’ll see the GeoLang menu appear in your admin sidebar

Configure Your Languages
- Navigate to GeoLang > Settings
- Set your Default Language (e.g., English)
- Add Additional Languages you want to support (e.g., Spanish, French)
- Choose your preferred Language Switcher style and position
- Save your settings
Pro Tip: Start with 2-3 languages maximum. You can always add more later as your site grows.

Create Your First Translated Page
- Create a new page in your default language (e.g., “About Us”)
- Save and publish it
- In the GeoLang sidebar (right side of Gutenberg), click “Create Translation”
- Choose the target language (e.g., Spanish)
- GeoLang will create a copy of the page for you to translate
- Translate the content and publish

Translate Your Navigation Menu
- Go to GeoLang > Menu Translator
- Select the menu you want to translate
- Choose the target language
- Enter translations for each menu item
- Save your changes

Enable IP-Based Language Detection (Optional)
- Go to GeoLang > IP Detection
- Enable “Automatic Language Detection”
- Choose your preferred IP detection service
- Visitors will automatically see your site in their local language
Note: The Free version includes API-based IP detection with limited requests. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited MaxMind database lookups.
